Black Templarised Huron and Claudio

Eeesh, I've not updated the blog in a while (check out our facebook page for more frequent updates).
Anyway, I recently converted up a Forgeworld Lugft Huron into a Black Templar marshal, and a Claudio from Space Hulk into a Templar Assault Terminator. These were based and painted to match a previous commission from the same client. Click the images for larger views.

Black Templars Terminator Assault Squad

This squad is now basically done bar the varnish. I'm pretty happy with the black technique and I've found a nice fast way for doing parchment over black (Panzer Aces paints for the win!); two things that will help with the larger Blood Angels commission I'm working on. Each of these Terminators is converted in some way; either the addition of a subtle (or not) Templar insignia or just by some heavy battle damage. The bases are scratch built.

As ever you can click the image for a larger view. The next post I make will be covering the Death Company I've been working on alongside these.

Finecast Emperor's Champion - Golden Demon 2011 Contender?

This guy's pretty much finished now. I've asked the client if he's OK with me putting it through GDUK2011, which obviously puts a delay on delivery. He is, so there may well be a few tweaks to really get this guy to shine. Click the image for a larger view.

WIP Finecast Emperor's Champion (1)

The Finecast Emperor's Champion I'm working on is coming along quite nicely. The base is textured with plasticard and a spare icon from a drop pod kit. The sword, which I broke off the hand trying to straighten (and had to pin back to the hilt) does keep warping, but this is the only problem with the model. Click the image for a larger view.

Deathwatch Black Templar

A very rare use of OSL (object source lighting) for me. It's generally not an effect I feel has any requirement on a tabletop miniature, but in this case I wanted to liven up the plain black of the Deathwatch / Templar uniform. The Deathwatch insignia and extended shoulder pad rim are sculpted from greenstuff and plasticard. The right arm is a modified Dark Angels Veteran's arm. The backpack is also a DA Veteran piece, and the helmet is from the Black Templars upgrade set. As usual, click the image for a larger view.
