Urien Rakarth

This was a fun miniature to paint, although a royal pain to put together. Some less-used techniques from me here - I generally don't do tight blended highlights like on the coat, but as the scheme is blackish, the highlights needed to be tight to keep the colour from going too blue. OSL by client request, though I've kept it fairly minimal. I like how the underlighting of the face came out.

WIP Urien Rakarth (1)

Some WIP shots of the Dark Eldar character, Urien Rakarth I'm working on at the moment. Fairly pleased with the nasty skin tones on this chap, achieved over a basecoat of Dheneb Stone to keep it pale. Various purple, green and red glazes used to add interest to the piece. The coat is highlighted by blending in Hawk Turquoise and finally a few touches of Fortress Grey.
